the apparent conflicts between the need for improved safety and the
drive to reduce CO2.

Safe Highways of the Future is a conference exploring technologies, and changes required, to enable zero deaths on Europe´s roads to become a reality.
Safe Highways of the Future will focus its attention on the processes relating to the next ten to twenty year term.
The conference will look at five key areas:
Automated Vehicles and Highway Systems
Safer Vehicles by design
Safer Roads by design
Human Factors
Political and Social Building Blocks
Safe Highways of the Future will bring together expert speakers in all of these areas in a serious attempt to look at the opportunities which exist or which may come to exist and also to identify the obstacles which will need to be overcome in the process.
As mentioned above, Brian Knibb of KGP to chair an important debate on the apparent conflicts between the need for improved safety and the drive to reduce CO2. The two requirements are not mutually exclusive but do introduce significant challenges.
