Technology Scenarios

Technology market assessment and forecasting has always been a key part of KGP's work. The first KGP project undertaken back in 1988 was to evaluate an electronic sensing system developed for the US aerospace industry but with potential application for active suspension systems in cars. Since then the firm has investigated most technology areas in the vehicle.
Choosing which technologies to commit to achieve required product performance is complex. It is often influenced by many variables the certainty or uncertainty of each being measured in probabilities rather than being fixed. Straightforward 'yes' or 'no' answers are rare. In these circumstances it is necessary to develop robust scenarios rather than fixed forecasts.
Mainly through the work of KGP Research Director, Alex Woodrow, KGP has developed strategic technology scenarios for most vehicle systems but especially in the powertrain field.
On many occasions, our scenarios and associated forecasts have subsequently been used to assess investment proposals.
