KGP’s on-going On-Road Heavy Engine forecast, started in 2006, and subsequent Non-Road Mobile Machinery Engine forecast continues to attract new clients to KGP. KGP works with leading market forecasters J.D. Power Automotive Forecasting and Off-Highway Research on the respective studies.
With continued growth in the Chinese and Indian markets KGP is expanding its resources in Asia-Pacific to provide targeted multi-client and single client research services. These developing markets account for the lion’s share of growth and are moving towards more stringent emissions legislation, presenting significant opportunities for suppliers of many different components and systems.
In the developed markets KGP’s focus is shifting to the strategic implication of fuel economy/CO2 legislation. With the notice of intended rule-making on Heavy Duty fuel economy in the USA, followed by likely legislation in Europe within the next five years and the existing Top-Runner programme in Japan, the shift in focus from noxious emissions to fuel economy and CO2 will continue to drive engine technology. However future developments will also require new vehicle technologies, some closely integrated with the engine, again presenting significant opportunities for suppliers.
KGP’s on-road engine forecast is updated quarterly, with the 1st delivery of 2011 at the beginning of February, followed by May, August and November. Off-Road engines updates are published in early April and September.
Since late 2011 KGP is also working with Integer Research, a leading chemical market consultancy to examine the market for SCR in Non-Road Mobile Machinery. KGP will be attending several Integer Events during 2011 to promote the joint study. A broader list of events KGP is attending is given below, with more to follow…..
